Processional on “Simple Gifts” – by J. Bruce Ashton; the tune, written in 1848, is attributed to Elder Joseph Brackett from Alfred Shaker Village in Maine. It was used by Aaron Copland in his ballet Appalachian Spring, 1944. – view score – listen
